As I noted in a previous article about the more than 600 pages the FBI has on me, I briefly mentioned a university professor who once told me I was being “monitored.” I’ve decided to share more about this experience because I believe it serves the greater public interest. From 2018 to 2020, I was a student in the accounting program at the University at Buffalo, where I graduated in May 2020 with a B.S. in Accounting.

I’m sure you’re wondering which professor would have told me something like that, so without further delay, her name was Mary Ann Rogers. I had Ms. Rogers for several classes and consistently earned an A or higher in her courses. My experiences with her were generally positive, as I found her to be approachable and friendly.

Things became even more interesting in December 2019, when Ms. Rogers joined several other University at Buffalo professors on an academic excursion to Russia, framed as an educational trip. However, the visit took an unexpected turn when Ms. Rogers and the other professors were deported from Russia on allegations that they were acting as foreign agents/assets.

According to the Moscow Times “The deportation order in the city of Ryazan 200 kilometers south of Moscow comes months after a government order which advised state-affiliated scientists to avoid contacts with foreign colleagues. Russia’s Education Ministry later backtracked on the advisory, while the Kremlin said that Russia must be vigilant in protecting its industrial secrets against foreign intelligence.”
I later asked Ms. Rogers privately about her deportation, since I had seen it reported in the news. She seemed taken aback by the question—almost shocked that I even knew. Did she not realize it had been published in the media? She went on to tell me that they had been arrested and even put on trial in Russia. As she spoke, I could sense something was weighing on her, as if she wanted to say more but was holding back. Then, almost suddenly, she blurted out: “You’re being monitored.” I sat there in utter shock. The conversation ended abruptly, and I walked out. From that point forward, my interactions with Ms. Rogers were awkward, for reasons that should be obvious. I could expand on this moment further, and may do so in the future.
Here’s some e-mail communications between Ms. Rogers and I:

Was Ms. Rogers telling the truth about me being “monitored”? Well, I am still waiting on my FBI file as that will hopefully provide some insight. I am gathering several odd occurrences which occurred while I was a full time student at the University at Buffalo.
Speaking of off occurrences, while on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus, my mother and I experienced a disturbing encounter in which a man began following us. Strangely, he accused us of following him. Despite his claims, he continued to trail us across campus and even off-campus.
